Dive into the Word

"But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness." - 1 John 1:7-9 (NLT)

Family Moment

What does it mean to repent? It's when we turn away from our sin and turn toward God. God loves us so much that when we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive! Adults, now is a great time to share an example of messing up and seeking forgiveness. Distribute paper and coloring supplies, and have everyone draw a "clean" heart. Ask the Holy Spirit, "Is there any sin in my heart for which I need to repent?" Give family members time to respond with words and drawings before regrouping and celebrating God's faithful forgiveness!

Let's Pray!

  1. Think about the things that make your heart hard, that might make you turn away from God.
  2. Thank God that he forgives us and cleanses our hearts.
  3. Pray: "Dear Jesus, thank You for cleansing me and making me right with God. Keep me from sinning, from doing wrong things. Please help me to follow You always. Amen."
